Pool heater repair & replacement

Water staying cold? Tell me what your heater is doing. I’m Grant with Pool Whisperer. I offer free on-site diagnosis for residential pool and spa heaters in Madison and Huntsville, Alabama.

Start with a free on-site diagnosis

The visit is to identify the heater issue and explain your repair and replacement options. The diagnosis does not commit you to paid work.

Free diagnosis does not mean free parts, labor, repair or replacement. Discuss the proposed work and its cost before deciding whether to proceed. Include your location and equipment details so I can confirm coverage and the scope of the visit.

What to send before the visit

  • Your city or ZIP and whether this is a pool or spa heater.
  • The heater type, make and model if you know them.
  • What happens when you ask it to heat, including any displayed message.
  • When the issue began and any recent equipment or control changes.

You do not need to identify the faulty part. A displayed error or cold water alone is not enough to diagnose the cause remotely. Ask about your specific equipment when arranging service.

Repair or replace the heater?

The useful comparison starts with the findings. Ask what failed, what the proposed repair addresses and whether there are other condition or compatibility concerns.

Compare the quoted repair with the proposed replacement scope. Parts availability, equipment condition, your heating needs and compatibility with the existing pool setup can affect that decision. There is no single age or price threshold that makes the choice right for every pool.

Ask what is included in the estimate, what would be extra and which equipment the proposal covers. Replacement work and any changes to the existing setup need a specific scope. Ask before planning a new heater installation.

How the visit works

  1. Send the details. Share the symptoms and general location using the service request or phone.
  2. Confirm the visit. Discuss coverage, equipment and scheduling. A form submission does not automatically book an appointment.
  3. Understand the findings. Get an explanation and discuss repair or replacement options.
  4. Choose any paid work. Decide after discussing the proposed scope and cost.

Questions before requesting heater service

Why is my pool heater not heating?

The symptom can involve the heater, water flow or controls. Share the message displayed and what the system does when heating is requested. An on-site diagnosis helps distinguish the cause before choosing parts or replacement.

What can I check before calling?

Note the displayed message and the settings you normally use, and consult the operating instructions for your model. Do not open gas or electrical equipment, bypass a safety device or repeatedly reset a fault. Stop using equipment that appears unsafe.

Does the free visit include a repair?

No. The on-site heater diagnosis is free. Parts, repair labor and replacement work are separate. You choose whether to proceed after discussing the work.

Which heater brands do you work on?

Send the make and model so I can discuss your equipment before arranging service. I’ll confirm the service scope for your model before arranging a visit.

Can I request a particular appointment time?

Include your preference when you contact me. Service is by arrangement, Monday through Friday, 9 am to 5 pm Central. Your request starts a conversation about scheduling.
